ABOUT

KINGS COUNTY FARM BUREAU, the KINGS COUNTY OFFICE OF EDUCATION and the KINGS FAIRGROUNDS are proud to present KINGS COUNTY FARM DAY, an educational enrichment program for all third graders in the county.  FARM DAY is held annually on the first Thursday of March at the KINGS FAIRGROUNDS   FARM DAY allows students and teachers the opportunity to learn basic facts about agriculture, become familiar with food and animal production, and have personal contact with farmers.  Our goal is to have everyone who attends FARM DAY walk away with an increased awareness of the positive contributions that agriculture makes to our local community and our economy.

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED

In addition to the nearly 2,600 third graders in attendance, what makes this event a success is the help we get from hundreds of volunteers – this is where we need your help!  Whether you are able to provide us with an educational presentation or your assistance with one of many tasks that need to be filled that day, your participation is welcomed.  Even if you are unable to attend FARM DAY, you can still participate by contributing some information and/or products for our teacher boxes.  These boxes will be used by all the third grade teachers in the county prior to the event as a way to bring “agriculture in the classroom.”

Another way to get involved is to attend our WINTER WINE SHOWCASE, a wine tasting and appetizer social that benefits FARM DAY.
